Good morning & a blessed start to 2025.
A winter event has been forecast for several days now. The latest information indicates that the storm will hit early Sunday morning. As always in Southern Indiana, we’ll know for sure once it starts. Our plan is to have Mass Sunday morning. I’ll be able to make my way over to celebrate the Eucharist for anyone that is present. We cannot guarantee the sidewalks or parking lot conditions as we will probably be in the middle of the storm. If it will be dangerous to travel to Holy Redeemer for Sunday morning Mass, do not get out. Please use caution and choose safety. Please do know that God does not expect you to put yourself in harm’s way. At the same time, we will have our normal Sunday anticipation Mass Saturday evening at 5 pm, well before the storm is in the area. If you have any concern, please join us then. Invite your neighbors or family members who usually don’t drive after dark to join you. Let us be parish family to one another caring for one another through whatever come. Again, God does not expect us to put ourselves in harm’s way, but calls us to do what might be outside of our normal.
As a reminder from our COVID days, the spiritual communion prayer (click here) is a beautiful way to unite ourselves to the Lord in those times we can’t make it physically to Mass. We will also live stream the Mass (click here) as we continue to do for each Mass.
Also know that the adoration in the chapel will close at 9:00 pm Saturday until Wednesday January 8 at 1:00pm. At that time the conditions will be reassessed. During that time the Blessed Sacrament will not be exposed but Jesus will still be available in the chapel tabernacle for prayer. Again, please use caution and safety when going to the chapel as we cannot guarantee the parking lot condition.
Let us join together in prayer with and for one another. Know of my prayers for all of us & everyone during this time of uncertainty & difficulty.
