April 7, 2020 Update
Good afternoon to you. I hope that you and your family are staying safe & healthy this week.
Holy Week is upon us & we are approaching the Easter Triduum which are the three days that we celebrate the great mysteries of our faith. They comprise Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter. Holy Thursday presents to us the great gift of the Eucharist and the priesthood. Good Friday draws us into the depths of God’s love in the sacrifice of His only Son Jesus on the cross for us. Easter celebrates the Resurrection of Jesus, opening for us the gates of heaven and pointing us towards our ultimate gift of new life in Christ. I do pray that during these days you will take time to enter more deeply into these beautiful days. Each has their own focus for us to draw closer to God in the depths of his love for us.
To assist you, we have completed the Holy Week at Home pages with resources for you and your family. There are videos, audio talks, music, crafts, activities and more to take you through the entirety of these holy days. Simply click here to be taken to the Holy Week at Home Resources page. From there you will be able to navigate to each day and all that it holds. You might want to take a moment before Thursday to decide what might be most helpful to you and your family.
Do remember that we will be live streaming each of the Triduum celebrations and the Holy Week Schedule can be found here. As you are participating at home, you might also consider how to make your own little home chapel for these celebrations. Here is a page that explains a little more about how you can do that.
Above all of these things, please do take time each day to pray and reflect on the mystery of each day and what it calls us to better understand, appreciate and live. When we make time for the Lord in our faith, we will be amazed at what He shares with us.
Know that I will be lifting you and your family up in prayer at each of the celebrations this week.
God Bless,
Fr. Jason
