On Wednesday, April 1, the 8th Grade students of Holy Redeemer Parish were scheduled to make a pilgrimage to Saint Meinrad Archabbey in St. Meinrad, Indiana. The intent of this pilgrimage was to take a closer look at vocations, including the priesthood and consecrated life that the monks of Saint Meinrad model. It was also an opportunity to help the students discern the gifts that God has given each one of them to use in His service. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic and shelter-in-place restrictions, the trip was cancelled. Because our group was not able to make the pilgrimage, several monks from Saint Meinrad created a video tour and question and answer session for our students. As there is so much for everyone to see and learn about Saint Meinrad, we wanted to share the video with the entire parish.
Thank you to the generous support of the Knights of Columbus, for many years now we have been able to take the 8th Grade students on this pilgrimage. We thank them also for their generosity this year, even as our pilgrimage has taken a different format than in previous years.
Thank you also to the monks of Saint Meinrad who so generously opened the doors of their church and home to us. The planning, time and access is a beautiful testament to their life of Ora et Labora (Prayer and Work).
