A Note from Society of St. Vincent de Paul
“Dear Parishioners of Holy Redeemer:
Thank you so much for the wonderful collection of food-all nicely sorted by some students—for the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry. (Special thanks to Doug Rasler for delivering all of this before Easter.) And thank you as well for the bags of groceries collected in the foyer throughout the year and delivered here by Sue Gries & Erma Pfeifffer when they come to volunteer. All of this certainly helps us provide nutritious foods for those needing assistance in our local area. We are very grateful for Holy Redeemer’s faithful support of our food pantry ministry, During March we gave a three day supply of groceries, along with a personal hygiene and cleaning items to 2,460 persons in 1,131 different households. Blessings in this Easter season! May the great gift of Easter– HOPE– give you renewed confidence in God’s goodness and love which nothing on this earth can shake! Again, thank you for “helping us help others”
Sr. Donna Marie Herr, O.S.B;
Manager SVDP Food Pantry
Change of Date
Since the Summer Event falls on the first weekend of the June, we will postpone our 2nd collection for debt reduction as well as our birthday and anniversary blessings until the second weekend of June (June 10 & 11). Thanks for your understanding
St Vincent Thrift Store Needs Help.
St. Vincent de Paul is looking for a few good volunteers. We need volunteers to accept donated goods, help sort those goods, and then move them out to the sales floor to replenish what has been sold.
We are making some great changes at the Thrift Store and are always in need of volunteers. During the summer, we lose the students that come in during the day and volunteer. We need you, if you have been considering becoming a volunteer at the Thrift Store NOW is the time to come in and help us serve our friends and neighbors in need. You can come with a friend, parent, grandparent, or come and make new friends, we have training at the store every Wednesday at 1:00 P.M.. If you have a few hours a week to volunteer, you can help us make a difference in the lives of those living in the most need.
I asked that you prayerfully consider joining us, or calling for more information. Please contact: John Payne at 812-425-3148 or firstname.lastname@example.org
